30 Day Anime Challenge Day 12: Who Is Your Favorite Male Anime Character?
Lately I have been watching a lot of anime mostly because at the start of this challenge I had seen maybe 6 anime shows in completion. The most recent anime I am watching is DATEALIVE. Its quite interesting. Therefore my favorite Male anime character to date is Shiduo Itsuka.
As he is the main protagonist of the story we should get to know him better:
Shidou is a student of Raizen High School. He was adopted into the Itsuka family when he was “abandoned” by his mother. He possesses a strange power that allows him to seal the powers of a Spirit in his body with a kiss; however, the seal will only work if the Spirit holds enough trust or affection toward him to allow it. Although considering trust and affection is a two-way street he probably needs to have a certain amount of affection too, or at least genuinely want to help the spirit from the bottom of his heart which he usually does even before seeking out a spirit.
Due to this power which was already known by Kotori Itsuka he was recruited—or rather forced—to join “Ratatoskr” to help and save Spirits. Instead of killing Spirits to prevent spacequake from happening, he has to seal the Spirit’s powers with a kiss in order for them to co-exist with humans.
Now its not his blue hair or the “I am so lost” look about him that I like the most. But that Shiduo is actually a good guy and big brother. Now I am only on Episode 8 -Triple Capriccio, But I don’t think that his characteristics will change very much. I enjoy that he is genuine in wanting to help the Spirits and that he doesn’t want to hurt any of these girls feelings. Also its great that he seems to be more of a lover than a fighter. Cause when ever these girls seem to get into it. He just changes the subject and they seem okay with that.
My favorite thing he has done so far is when he risked his own life for Tohka. it was such a selfless thing to do. Another one of his heroic deeds that I think is worth a mention is when he returns Yoshinon to Yoshino. It caused him harm and on top of that was highly advised against. Yet he knew that to Yoshino, Yoshinon was more than just a puppet. He is her hero. This action shows true understanding of another being and also a respect that comes from wanting to be a good friend.
I am looking forward to where this anime is heading and to meeting all the new spirits, as I find Shiduo to be very funny also.
If there is another anime like this one, then please let me know in the comments. I would be happy to watch it. 🙂
P.S. This is part of the 30 Day Anime Challenge, so if you enjoyed this post let me know and check out the other post in this category.
