Why I love The Sims.

Long ago there was a game on the computer that was simply called The Sims. Since that time long ago the world has made many versions of this game and I have to say that I love them all.

Now I know that its not exactly cool to say that you love The Sims, but honestly its really my type of game. I am not a first person shooter game player… See Call of Duty WW2 (First Time Playing) for more info at how terrible I am. lol.

In fact I just learned that the Sims is 19 years old this month. Thanks to the Twitch Streamer Sims4Jo (if you haven’t seen her stream check it out.)

I have been playing Sims since I was in 11th grade which was 2005. So Yes, that is a long time. I never really got to play the whole game mostly cause I had to share the Xbox with my gametastic mother… who seems to kick butt in every game I have ever played her in.

But watching her play inspired my love of this game more than playing it myself did. I love The Sims for 3 main reasons.

O — There are not really any things that you cannot do. There are not many rules.

O– Its always changing and with each expansion pack, you can change the game and the way that its played.

O– This is probably my favorite thing about it but if you mess up and don’t like the characters that you created… you can always start over or change the way you play the game.

For those of you who are stumbling upon this post and wondering what The Sims is… Here is a little into for you.

The games in the Sims series are largely sandbox games, in that they lack any defined goals (except for some later expansion packs and console versions which introduced this gameplay style). The player creates virtual people called “Sims” and places them in houses and helps direct their moods and satisfy their desires. Players can either place their Sims in pre-constructed homes or build them themselves. Each successive expansion pack and game in the series augmented what the player could do with their Sims.

Anyway. I have been streaming on Mixer my gameplay of The Sims 4. I just got it for Valentines and with it I also received the Expansion Pack of Cats and Dogs. I did notice that the game has changed a little bit since I first played. The Sims that I remember, you couldn’t really travel in and you had house phones on the wall.

Yet even thought this game has changed through out the time I am happy to say that its still on of my favorites and I still love it.

Do you love The Sims? If so let me know why you love this almost 20 year old game in the comments or stop by and say HI on Mixer.
