How to configure the New Gmail.

How often do you clean out your email? Personally, I try to clean my email/gmail out every week. I receive 150 emails a day, many of them are just sale ads… and all those stupid things that you need an email to sign up for. But recently I have had a problem with Gmail. I cant seem to get it cleaned. I used to have it set up to where there were 3 tabs. Priority, Promotion and _______ I don’t remember what that one is. But anyway! The problem is that Google updated Gmail and now I cant seem to even search for a specific email.

After much playing around I finally fingured out how to configure this new set up and wanted to share it with you.

This works for me but it may not work for you.

How to Configure your Gmail inbox:

First, In the top left of the screen you will see the “Settings Icon” Click this.

Second, look for “Configure Inbox” Click this. It will open a dialoge box like this below.

The system has these Primary, Social, Promotions already set up. But you can easily change that.

This also makes it look like the Gmail from 2 months ago, Which may make things easier.  Once you make your selections click save and you are all set.

If your still having problems with the display of your emails the next thing you can do is. Once again go to settings and this time Click on Display Density. This allows you to change the way the emails show in each category that you set. The one that is shown here I find to be the easiest as I can click on the attachments and also see them easily. you can change this to the older display by selecting Compact.
