Technical Tuesday: Driving with Google

Google maps is a great application and one that pretty much everyone already has on their phone. But did you know that most people don’t really use it? I don’t know why… It’s honestly pretty cool to use.

Google Maps

My favorite thing about Google Maps is the Explore Nearby. I love to use it when I am in a new town or just want to see something new in my own city.

It gives your events and also let’s you use the Google Search by just selecting a button that’s relevant to what your looking for.

You can also add in places that you travel to often and check the commute at any time.

Another feature that you may not be aware of is the For You tab. This tab tracks every town you have been to and where you live, your likes and interests and then tells you when something you may like is about to open or is having and event. I personally find this to be really fun when traveling with my boyfriend cause we love to explore our surroundings.

Google Maps

You can use Google maps on your computer or on your cell phone and tablet for a mobile experience. I personally love to use it before I travel on my computer to make sure that I have a few routes picked out incase there is a large accident.

Google maps is a great application and one that I use most of the time. I also have been using WAZE and in fact use them both when I travel… I know that may seem a little overboard… But I always know where the road work and accidents are. 😉

As always Happy Computing.
