24 hours of Microsoft Launcher… Kill me!

My Home Screen With Microsoft Launcher Installed.

A few weeks ago I got an email saying that Microsoft had finally done it. That everything that I did on my phone would connect to my computer and I would get my wish. I would be able to respond to text and share content between devices and it was going to be great.id on my phone would connect to my computer and I would get my wish. I would be able to respond to text and share content between devices and it was going to be great.

So I downloaded it and was all super duper happy and then I noticed something that for the last 5 hours had been driving me absolutely insane!

To the right you can see a picture of my home screen. The problem? This program makes apps so large and so locked in place that I want to… Scream. I felt like I was using an iPhone and could not move my apps where I wanted them. It changed my search engine to Bing (Which gave me a lot of Microsoft Rewards points. But now I have 2 control panels one on the bottom of my phone and one on the top (The one on the top is the one that I deal with on a normal everyday basis.)

This one to the left is simple and easy to use

(Maybe because I am the
most familiar with it.)

Then you have the one on the right
Microsoft’s control panel…

First I would like to point out that the five icons that you see on the top are normally docked on my phone and that the only one that looks like it did before I installed this program on my phone is the Camera. ( Check out this post for how to change your Icons for free with Zedge)  Second, Can anyone tell me what the point of having a control panel that moves those docked icons …and why on earth I would feel the need to swipe up (to open the dock) then select the All Apps Icon (white circle with little blue dots) to search for an application!!!!! Why the hell would you not just swipe to the f****** left!!!????

PS.. the swiping to the left is a lot easier.

Also, do you know that feeling you get when someone hands you their phone and says hey can you do such and such for me… and your like…. Uh… I have no clue where you keep your apps dude…

That is how I felt with my phone for 24 hours. I could barely use it… (Parents- Here is a tip.. you want your kids to get off their cellphones for 5 hours… install Microsoft Launcher) I guarantee they will be so obsessed with trying to not use their phone they will welcome any chores you could give them. That’s how frustrating it was for me to have this. I actually got a lot more productive and used my laptop a lot more than I normally do, just because It was a royal pain to use my phone.

Apps on my phone with Microsoft Launcher.

To the left is how my application screen looked with Microsoft Launcher. I couldn’t find anything…and found a lot of apps that I honestly didn’t know I had, Like AT&T Drive Mode.  (Click here for a compare and contrast of Driving Apps)

Anyway, after my 24 hours was up, I deleted Microsoft Launcher and will not be installing it again. It drove me insane and in my opinion was a waste of 24 hours. Also it didn’t link my computer with my phone… Infact that never even happened. I couldn’t see anything simultaneously on either device and they more seemed to work completely independent of each other. Receiving a few text and emails while having Microsoft Launcher installed proved to be useless even with Cortana (Which you can see is installed on my phone. Although, I did receive those text on my Samsung Gear Sport. Great job Samsung, Click here if you want an honest review)

So once again… Microsoft failed and I wasted 24 hours of my life dealing with a phone that made me want to scream.
