PC GAMING EXPERIEMENT- conclusion.
For years now I have been told that I suck at games… I am pretty sure I have even expressed this sentiment a few times on this blog. I am not a gamer by any means. I am dating a gamer and have lots of friends that are game enthusiast…. and totally could kick my ass in just about any game there is. So I went ahead and decided that I am going to try to play video games on PC cause everyone I have spoken with says that its easier and sometimes better. I dont honestly even know what games there really are for PC anymore. But this adventure has to begin somewhere and its been fun so far.
In the Spirit of transparency and also because I am a blogger. Here is my Disclaimer : All three of these games where recommended to me and I purchased the ones that needed to be Purchased. I was not paid in any way to play or to try these games. Though I do follow the creator of Duck Game on Twitter and he has commented on some of my tweets and watched my Video.
Back to the experiment…
I have always been a mobile farm gamer, I totally kick ass at Hay Day and at games like Rollercoaster Tycoon. (Which may in fact be the last game I every played on a PC.) But recently I have discovered…. Duck Game! For those of you who dont know what Duck Game is… Here is a small synopsis.
“Enter the futuristic year of 1984, an age where ducks run wild in a frantic battle for glory. Blast your friends with Shotguns, Net Guns, Mind Control Rays, Saxophones, Magnet Guns, and much, much more. This is DUCK GAME. Don’t blink”
That is a totally great Description Right? lmao. Duck Game is a PC game that is on Steam (Click here for more on Steam) where you play as a duck that can wear hats and items of clothing and also shoot your friends with an array of guns, and not guns.
I honestly didn’t think that I would enjoy Duck Game. Though I thought that I would enjoy watching others play this one. So my friend sent me a link a few times to watching him play with a group. I thought it was funny and the imagery was reminiscent of Megaman and Sonic. I did also enjoy that it was not just guns that you are able to shoot with. Watching ducks get shot with Saxophones is pretty interesting.
Overall my first experience playing this game was that I suck as video games and to give up. But I kept getting invited to play and also my friend really wouldn’t let me give up. So a couple of days ago I asked if I could play with him, and to my surprise (it really shouldn’t have been) he said yes and next thing I knew I was play with him a group of 2 other people. and I didn’t win but I want to say I wasn’t always the first to die and I didn’t quit. So I call that a win! Here is a Link to the video of my gameplay…or should I say game defeat…
Next was Apex Legends. It was a free download and recommended to by another blogger. (Link to Site) And as a Non-Gamer there are a few things that I really enjoyed about this game.
First it came with Training…Something both Fortnite and Call of Duty (on Console) could totally use. In fact a lot of the games that I have been told to try recently on PC could totally use a Key Guide.
Second No one was yelling at me or was swearing or just trash talking like you hear when you play COD. I feel so bad and I cant tell them that I am new and dont know what I am doing cause I am pretty sure that they would just kill me. Anyway. I did record my gameplay for the purpose of being able to share it with you. Honestly its truly terrible and you will probably have a good laugh, Its okay I laughed too. (Link to video)
Third the graphics are wonderful, I really loved the style of the artwork and also the characters. You will see in the video that I played as the Medic… but I didn’t know how to use the ability to heal myself or others and that caused us to lose the match. I did try again a few times since the writing of this post but still haven’t been able to get the hang of it. I know this is probably a pretty easy game but maybe its just not right for me.
The final game that I tried in my wonderful experiment on PC Gaming is League of Legends. A coworker that I know plays this and I really wanted to play it so after a few failed attempts and me bugging him, he finally agreed to play with me. Now League of Legends is a pretty fun game, I watched an ex of mine play it a few times and he always seemed to enjoy it. Sorry but I didn’t record my gameplay of this. If I ever do go back inside this game I will do so though.
But unlike Duck Game which is Keyboard Based (If you dont have a controller) and Apex which is Keyboard and Mouse… League of Legends is almost entirely your mouse! As the coworker told me “This Game is a lot of continuous clicking” I figured that this would be great because I suck at Duck Game and also Apex… but I can use a mouse… So I tried and I had guidance and still got told that I sucked. Not by my coworker but by other people playing. They were not happy with me and kept calling me names and saying stuff about my gameplay. (which was not nice.)
All three of these games were great in their own ways and I enjoyed the experience of playing them. Some I think I will be deleting in the near future but overall I would say that my experiment of PC Gaming was a success. I figured out a few things about the games that I play and who I play them with. I personally think that you should not bash someone who is playing a game and tell them that they suck (to put it lightly) I also enjoy games that have rounds like Duck Game and ones that I can play by myself. Duck Game has another section in it where you can practice your dexterity and also learn to play the game and I really enjoy that area a lot. I also really enjoyed the trained area of Apex Legends. This game really shows you how to play and gives you all the tools you need. League of Legends is alright but not a game that I think I will be playing again for a while. I plan to come back to this post and try these games again after I have more experience in gaming. So no worries I haven’t given up.
If you have any game recommendations or just a game that you think would be fun to watch me play Let me know in the comments below and remember
ITS NOT ABOUT IF YOU WIN OR LOSE, ITS ABOUT HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME.
