Fandom Friday: Legacies (A Hope Mikaelson story)

I just finished watching the First Season of Legacies on Netflix, for those of you who don’t know what I am talking about here is a little bit of a synopsis before we jump in.

The town of Mystic Falls has a new generation of protectors in this spin-off of “The Vampire Diaries” and “The Originals.” The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted is home to Klaus Mikaelson’s daughter Hope, Alaric Saltzman’s twins Lizzie and Josie, and other young adults who are coming of age as witches, vampires and werewolves, nurtured to be their best selves and overcome their villainous impulses. Together, they rely on ancient folklore and tales to learn how to battle their far-reaching enemies and attempt to keep balance in the world

This show was creepy and honestly scared me at some points. But carried on in true Mikaelson fashion. Scary yet oh so interesting!

This story follows Hope Mikaelson who is a Werewolf, Vampire and a Witch all rolled into one.

Her father being Klaus Mikaelson and her mother being Haley a pure Werewolf alpha. (from the series The Originals) That entire series is a must see for anyone who loves Vampires or the paranormal. Seriously if your not a Twilight Lover then the Originals is for you.

Long story short, Hope meets a guy and kicks a lot of Ass! Like seriously can I get a hell ya for another kick ass heroine!

Where it all happens

Anyway, the show takes place in Mystic Falls which if you were a fan of the Vampire Diaries… You would remember as well… And the name Salvatore would send chills up your spine… You probably remember that in that series there was a Damien Salvatore who was bat shit crazy and in love with Elena (I think that was her name). The school is actually their old mansion and there are a lot of throw backs to the Salvatores and the Originals in this new series.

I don’t want to really tell you anymore about the series besides that it was honest and refreshing, it didn’t have the whole high school vibe of most paranormal books/TV series. These Kids weren’t running around asking for trouble or trying to really start anything or having sex with each other.

There are good values and morals in the story which I think may have been one of the major factors in why it’s been so popular. The thought that Vampires and Werewolves and Witches can control themselves and also be able to get along with humans is a big factor also.

Yes, there is of course a giant common enemy that they all come together and fight against, but I think you will really love the ending. It wasn’t a tear jerker or over the top… But it does make you want the next season to be released soon.

I read somewhere that it will probably be this October before we see anymore of the Salvatore School… But hopefully we can get a few sneak peaks before then.
