30 Day Anime Challenge Day 9: What Anime Series Will You Never Watch?
When I think of anime I think of shows like SAO, Fairy Tail, RWBY… and all the other ones that I have mentioned in the last 8 days. There are quite a few that I will never watch though… I tried a lot at the beginning of this journey. I even found an anime that was all about girls fighting in a pool on floating rafts and they could only use their boobs and butts. It was quite interesting. But there is one main anime that I will never watch. I tried one episode and when I tell you what it is, you’re going to probably think I am insane. (considering that It’s popular… well at least its the one that most almost 30 year old’s mention)
Naruto:
I can not stand this show. I don’t understand the point.
Here is the synopsis:
Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, an adolescent ninja who searches for recognition from his peers and the village and also dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. The story is in two parts, the first set in Naruto’s pre-teen years, and the second in his teens.
I don’t know what it is about this show, but I just cannot get into it. I don’t like the characters. I want to smack Naruto and I just want to scream whenever anyone says that its the best show ever. The thing that really drives me absolutely bonkers about Naruto is how he looks. I may not have gotten to why he looks like a cat.. but come on people the dude has whiskers. like he is a preteen and has fucking cat whiskers. The other characters don’t look like animals…
Case and point…. See no whiskers.. yes… she looks like she wants to climb through my computer screen and slice open my throat… but I am pretty sure she doesn’t look like an animal.
Sorry, If my opinion offends you. As I said earlier.. I didn’t really give it a chance. I watched one episode and quit. If someone can explain the whole way Naruto looks thing.. I may be inclined to give it another go.
Update: 3 years later…
So I told my little cousin about this blog and about this post and when I say she looked at me in complete and objected horror… I mean, I am pretty sure that if she knew how to wield a knife as well as Sasuke, I would have been dead.
As you can probably tell from that last sentence… I did heed her advice that I had failed at life and watched a few episodes. In fact, I made it all the way to when they are on their first mission. I would have to say that it’s still not one I would watch and be addicted to. But for me, most animes are not in that category. I am still struggling to finish quite a few of them. But I do watch it every once in a while and do also now understand.
