Fandom Friday: Rosario + Vampire
While exploring anime one night I found this great show.
Rosario + Vampire
The story goes a little like this: Tsukune’s horrible grades have left him with only one option. Enroll in a school never heard of before and take a creepy bus to get there. But students at this school are hiding something… their Supernatural secrets.
On his first day Tsukune meets Moka (who ends up saving his life… quite a bit. I am only on episode 6 and already its a lot. Lol.) Moka is a Vampire and she is required to wear a rosary around her neck to keep her vampire self in a dormant state.

This is because she is what is known as an S-Class Monster. There have been no details on why she is the only S-Class Monster made to wear something like this. But anyway, when this rosary comes off her neck her inner Vampire is awakened and not so nice. She kind of kicks everyone’s ass and doesn’t care.Good Moka who doesn’t want to murder people is on the left and Bad Moka who is the ass kicking one… is on the right. personally, I think of this as a case of split personalities and I find it interesting. The case of two Moka’s can cause confusion, so I really like that the animators made her normal hair pink and then have it turn silver when she turns.
In almost every episode there is a girl who has developed a crush on Tsukune and who wants him all to themselves. They all seem to be enthralled by him. This could be do to the fact that he is human, and they don’t know that. For Moka, we know that it’s the taste of his human blood.
There is no definitive answer. We assume that each girl in his harem likes him for different reasons. They all sort of protect him, while vying for his attention. There are a few guys that you are introduced to also, but they don’t really stand out. There is another S-Class monster though who I think will play a bigger part than he has recently. He is a pervy Werewolf who seems to think that girls are the worlds gift to him.
What I think.
Each episode is only about 20 minutes with out the credits. They are all quite funny and relatively simple to follow. They are not as funny as Highschool DxD though. (You can check out the Highschool DxD post here) Both anime run along the same lines, with a singular guy surrounded by a lot of hot sexy women.
